This poster visualizes the effects of deforestation on wildlife. Although deforestation has positive results for humans, it ultimately results in many animals losing their homes. The custom tree-like lettering symbolizes the trees where animals such as birds live, while the damage to the word “home” shows how deforestation damages the home of these animals.

Process
I started the process with a moodboard. After deciding to focus on deforestation for the theme, I wanted the design to feature elements of nature. I looked for ways that I could use trees to spell out the phrase that would be on my poster. After finding some inspiration, I sketched some concepts using some ideas that I found, including cursive branches or carving into the tree's trunk. I originally wanted to use the "tree branch" style, so I sketched the phrase that I chose in this style and began filling the negative space with other elements of nature to help drive my concept further. The initial and final designs turned out to be very similar, but after a critique, I decided to make the word “home” look damaged to further symbolize what deforestation does to the homes of animals.
